Track Review of "Black Light" by No Mono

Song: "Black Light”

Artist: No Mono

Genre: Electronic, Indie

YES! NO MONO

Australian indie duo No Mono is Tom Snowdon and Tom Iansek. Together they create smooth electronic pop, which is veined with soul and so emotionally charged that, though the music is laid-back, you are kept on your toes while listening. The pair had previously collaborated on Iansek’s project, #1 Dads (so good), and began collaborating on a new solo project for Iansek which spun into No Mono gold (I love a good producer-buddy collab love story).

No Mono earned my devotion with “Fever Highs”, which smacks low and creeps upwards using your spine as it’s ladder. “Black Light” (below) saunters in and politely tells a story of heartbreak between claps, using roomy vocals and a simple foreboding melody. Start with “Black Light” and give their LP Islands Pt 2 (released in June of this year) a complete listen through.
